The best way to keep your replacement windows in top shape at all times is by regularly cleaning them. Today, Renewal by Andersen® of Greater Philadelphia shares some tricks to make window cleaning easier.
1. Clean with vinegar.
Vinegar can indeed help clean almost anything. You can use a vinegar and dish soap solution to clear your window glass of dirt. You can also try a vinegar and baking soda solution to unseat dirt from gliding window tracks.
2. Use tongs to clean your blinds.
It is common to accessorize larger windows with blinds. Keeping these blinds clean can be a huge hassle, however. To make the process easier, wrap a pair of tongs with a microfiber cloth on each side and run your wrapped tongs along the length of each blind.
3. Use outside and inside cleaning cloths.
Have separate cleaning cloths or scrubbers for indoors and outdoors. The dirt on the side of your window facing outdoors will be heavier than the dirt you remove on the indoors side.
4. Clean on a cloudy day.
Cleaning your windows when it’s hot outside might cause your cleaning solution to dry before you can properly wipe it off. This may result in residue formation which can be very unsightly on any window frame or pane.
